Leandro Bedolla is a VC for M25, the most active venture capital firm investing in Midwest-based pre-seed and seed-state founders. Bedolla is on the investment team and is responsible for sourcing, speaking with founders, conducting analysis and due diligence, and a whole host of other activities.
Bedolla’s greatest career accomplishment, he says, is simply his job. The Mexican immigrant grew up in a low-income environment in a blue-collar family. He had attended college without the aid of an alumni network in startups or VC—and he doesn’t have an MBA. “I grinded for two years teaching myself everything that I could online, and earned opportunities to get more experience,” the VC says.
The investor wants to make start-ups more accessible to diverse communities as both careers and potential investments. Bedolla is also a leader and volunteer for many organizations, including acting as a colead for LatinVC’s inaugural Breaking into VCP Fellowship. He also serves on VCFamilia’s Founder Initiative Community, and is a volunteer for Techstars, the Latinx Incubator, Venture Foward’s VC University, and HBCUvc.
Bedolla celebrates his Latinidad by listening to corridos, going to Latin Trap festivals, cheering on his favorite MMA fighters and boxers, and helping other Latinos succeed in the field.
