Marisol Villagomez is a seventeen-year sports marketing professional, currently in her tenth season with the Denver Broncos. As the multicultural marketing director, she oversees the Bronco’s multicultural efforts in the US and international activations in Mexico, as part of the NFL’s Global Markets Program (GMP).
Her leadership and commitment to growing the Bronco’s fan base and promoting the sport of American football in Mexico has elevated the Denver Broncos to one of the most active GMP teams. Domestically, Villagomez sees the demographic shift in US as a great opportunity for the Broncos, NFL, and the sport of football. This has encouraged her to focus on Spanish-language content development to engage with multigenerational homes, making the Broncos one of the first teams in the league with a designated Spanish language content team.
Prior to joining the Denver Broncos, Villagomez spent seven seasons with the Colorado Rockies as a member of the marketing department, also engaging with emerging multicultural communities.
Throughout her time in professional sports, Villagomez has worked to grow and engage key affinity groups including Hispanic and Latino audiences, women, and children. This required her to have a clear outlook and understanding of the importance that these groups have in the future development and growth of sports and the opportunity to engage generations of fandom.
A native of Mexico, Villagomez credits sports for helping her to acclimate to her family’s new home in the US.
In her personal life, Villagomez supports multicultural communities through volunteer and advocacy work. Most recently Villagomez and a friend hosted a free outdoor art exhibit titled Catrinas en Mi Ciudad at the Denver Performing Arts Complex to bring awareness and education about Día de Muertos, while showcasing local and national artists.
