Andres Gonzalez drives commercial revenues through the acquisition and activation of brand partnerships for New York City Football Club

Andres Gonzalez leads the team responsible for driving commercial revenues through the acquisition and activation of brand partnerships for New York City Football Club (CFG). He also chairs the club’s diversity, equity, and inclusion council. 

He joined CFG six years ago and was previously responsible for enabling the development of marketing campaigns with a portfolio of brands associated with CFG Clubs across the Americas. He was also responsible for the development of the Manchester City FC brand and the growth of its fan base in the United States as a key strategic market. 

Gonzalez joined CFG with a strong background in international sports and entertainment marketing. Before joining CFG, he was vice president of sponsorships in Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa for Mastercard for four years based in Singapore. He started at Mastercard in 2007 as part of its global sponsorships team, where he was responsible for successfully developing and executing marketing campaigns around sponsorships such as the UEFA Champions League, the Open Championship, the GRAMMY Awards, and Rugby World Cup. Previously, Gonzalez spent four years at Octagon Marketing working on football sponsorships including FIFA World Cup and Copa America.  

A graduate of the distinguished FIFA Master program, he holds an international masters in management, law, and humanities of sport from the Centre International d’Etude du Sport in partnership with three universities: De Montfort University in Leicester in the UK, SDA Bocconi School of Management in Italy, and the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. Gonzalez started his career in corporate finance and also holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Stetson University.
