Daniela Mounger was at AVANCE Global’s 2026 summit at the Bellagio in Las Vegas to remind her community that Wells Fargo, where she serves as SVP and head of global remittance services within consumer banking and lending, is dedicated to making the financial lives of Latinos and other immigrants a little easier.

Mounger was tapped to head the development and rollout of ExpressSend Mobile, a new feature within the Wells Fargo Mobile app that gives customers a way to directly send money to family and friends abroad.

“For me, ExpressSend is personal. It’s about more than a transfer. It’s about helping family back home. My entire family is in Mexico,” Mounger says. She herself knows the struggle of adding family members to an account, a process that had to be completed in person at a local branch. She saw it as cumbersome and as placing too much additional burden on families that often didn’t have time to navigate it. They needed money now.

“I’ve enjoyed this project so much because I feel that I’m doing something good for our community—helping customers access financial tools that let them send money back home safely,” the SVP says.

Mounger compared the AVANCE Global conference to the team of developers, researchers, technologists, marketers, financial experts, and attorneys that helped bring ExpressSend to market. Pulling off anything big requires getting lots of people on the same page, feeling connected, and making decisions together.

“I always talk about bringing all those people together,” Mounger explains. “Especially in big companies, everything can become siloed. Bringing everyone into the same room, combining ideas, making one decision together, and then putting it out there—it’s amazing. I get very passionate about this.”

The way Mounger talks about the process makes it evident why she was chosen to head up ExpressSend. Her fifteen years in the payments space is a good place to start, but it’s her passion and desire to let her work speak for itself that got her where she is.

At AVANCE Global, Mounger says the moment was ideal to remind her of just how much economic power Latinos are building. She wasn’t sure what to expect, but says she instantly understood when she felt the electric presence of thousands of passionate people in one place, sharing, networking, and celebrating.

“Together, we can move mountains,” Mounger says. “[AVANCE Global] just makes you ask yourself, ‘What can we do together to do something for our community?’”
