What is your greatest career accomplishment to date?

Being recognized for my accomplishments through getting promoted to vice president in five years (fastest you can do it as a campus hire).

What is your greatest personal accomplishment to date?

Losing 100-plus pounds and becoming an auntie.

What do you do today to impact your community?

I mentor college students looking to start their professional lives. I volunteer with local organizations—for example, Guadalupe School—that support the Utah Hispanic/Latinx population by transforming lives through education. I also serve as the SLC co-chief operating officer for the Hispanic/Latinx network at the firm that supports the Hispanic/Latinx employees in accomplishing their professional goals and retaining the best talent.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I will continue to support the Utah Hispanic/Latinx community by volunteering with local initiatives that support the education and development of our community. I will also continue to lead by example at GS to help/uplift the next generation of Hispanic/Latinx leaders.

What is the biggest issue that you want to help solve, and why?

I want to solve the education gap in the community; I want this generation to be the last “first generation” of college students. I want all Hispanic/Latinx students to have examples that they can look up to. I truly believe that education is power and that our community will have no glass ceilings to break if we continue in this path.

What is a moment when you realized the impact of your work?

Any time I see someone in the hallways I have recruited, or any time I see my directs get promoted/be successful and not being afraid to speak up.

Who inspires your leadership?

I have been lucky to find people that look like me in high positions at Goldman Sachs and I have leveraged them as my mentors through the years. Sarrah Connole and Eliana Bourne have both shaped my leadership style. They are both selfless leaders that always try to uplift those under them.

In my personal life, watching my sister become a mother this year has been super inspiring. I want to be at least half of good of a mother she has been.

What is a surprising hobby or interest that helps you stay creative and energized?

Tennis! Used to play when I was a kid, and I recently picked it back up. It has helped me stay active, outside, and heal my inner child.

What is your Latino background?

I am Venezuelan, born and raised in Margarita Island, Venezuela. I moved to US at sixteen.

What song do you listen to that motivates you?

“Fé, Cojones y Paciencia” by Eladio Carrión.
