By all accounts, Jesus Del Toro takes advantage of every opportunity available to him. Today, he works as the constituency services liaison in the office of Illinois US Representative Jesús “Chuy” García.
In his role, Del Toro meets with stakeholders, coalitions, constituents, and federal government agencies to develop and maintain effective relations and ensures that constituents are aware of the federal, state, and local resources and programs that are available to them. He also handles a variety of other matters—including environmental policy—for the district, and he counts supporting the launch of the Mayor’s Youth Commission as his greatest career highlight to date.
Del Toro didn’t come to this role unprepared, having held several leadership roles while attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His future goals include continuing to build relationships with Latino organizations in Garcia’s district and serve constituents to the best of his ability.
