Nichole Rondon, a Dominican American born and raised in the Bronx, is a communications strategist helping leading tech and creative brands shine while staying rooted in culture. She has shaped messaging and led PR campaigns for names like TikTok, Amazon MGM Studios, and BMW—ensuring stories are clear, impactful, and culturally relevant. From major product launches to rapid media pivots, Rondon specializes in keeping her clients front and center in an ever-changing landscape.
What is your greatest career accomplishment to date?
My greatest career accomplishment has been building a career that’s genuinely fun and deeply meaningful, a rare combo that many say isn’t possible, especially for a first-gen woman of color. But I’ve done it and I give all the credit to God for guiding me every step of the way. Because of His grace, I get to wake up every day doing work I love, with people I respect, on projects that shape culture.
I’ve worked with powerhouse brands like Airbnb, Cash App, and Netflix, led PR campaigns for cultural moments like Pharrell’s animated biopic Piece by Piece, and even interviewed Zoe Kravitz for her debut film Blink Twice, all before the age of 27.
This year, I stretched myself even further, securing a $54,000 contract for my agency. That moment wasn’t just about the numbers it was proof that I can deliver real value and lead with both strategy and impact. These opportunities have not only expanded my network but sharpened my skills, shaping me into a well-rounded, strategic PR leader.
What is your greatest personal accomplishment to date?
My greatest personal accomplishment is choosing growth over fear again and again. Whether navigating first-gen challenges, studying abroad in Paris and Nairobi, or making bold career moves, I’ve learned how to move through discomfort with intention. I am building my life with God, so I don’t let limitations, external or internal define what’s possible for me. That mindset has shaped everything, from my career to how I show up in my relationships and community.
What do you do today to impact your community?
I am a passionate mentor and community advocate. As a volunteer mentor at Minds Matter, I provide invaluable resources and guidance to high school students seeking admission to, enrollment in, and graduation from top four-year colleges.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I envision running my own media and PR company centered around honoring and amplifying diverse voices. I want to mentor the next wave of communicators, build space for bold ideas, and work on innovative projects that push the boundaries in cultural representation.
What is the biggest issue that you want to help solve, and why?
Too many brilliant people, especially first-gens and people of color, are still playing it small because they were told to play it safe. I want to change that. A lot of highly educated folks still feel like they need permission to dream big. You don’t. You just need someone to believe in your vision, sometimes even before you do.
I recently led a campaign highlighting Latinx creatives that gained traction across social and earned coverage in Rezmecla, it wasn’t just PR, it was platform-building. That’s why I love what I do. PR gives people visibility and voice. When someone sees their story in a headline or their face on a stage, it shifts something inside them. It reminds them they belong. When people see their story in the spotlight, it doesn’t just elevate their brand, it expands what they believe is possible. That’s the power I tap into every day.
What is a moment when you realized the impact of your work?
Early on, I worked on a fintech company’s first big brand campaign. What started as a simple awareness push turned into something much bigger. I helped shift how people saw the brand from just another finance app to a voice that truly connected with culture and community. I landed key features in places like Fast Company, People Magazine, Essence, and Ebony. I realized my work wasn’t just about press, it was about changing the conversation. When the campaign earned over 1 billion impressions and millions in publicity value, I realized my work wasn’t just creating visibility, it was creating real impact for top companies and everyday consumers alike.
What advice would 10-year-old you be shocked to hear you followed?
I was once told “Say yes; be open to all things. Life will take you on a beautiful journey if you stay open to unexpected paths.” At ten, I couldn’t have imagined working with global brands, speaking in rooms of industry leaders, being honored as 30 under 30, or traveling the world for work and fun. I’ve learned that saying yes, even when it’s uncomfortable, has led me to the most transformative growth.
What’s a cultural tradition that always brings you joy?
A big part of Dominican culture is celebrating life. Every year, my family hosts a “Rondon Reunion” where we play dominos and bingo with my abuela and primos, listen to Bachata and have plates full of Dominican classics like pernil, moro de guandules, and espaguetis dominicano. Introducing my partner to that tradition and watching my nephews, the next generation, soak it all in is pure joy.
What song do you listen to that motivates you?
“The Greatest” by Sia. It’s a reminder to keep showing up. The energy, the message, the resilience behind it, it fuels me every time.
