The world of professional sports took a major hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Nikki Garcia didn’t let it get her down. She was recently the manager of development for the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, which creates programs and provides grants that support local communities, including Black and Latino communities. Her role there involved working to raise $10 million annually through the planning and execution of in-stadium fundraising, special events, recurring fundraising programs, and online initiatives. She was also responsible for the 50/50 in-stadium raffle, which is one of the most successful of its kind in Major League Baseball.
Garcia’s evolved into a leader within the space, sharing best practices with other MLB teams and even helping them launch their own successful programs. Her future goals include continuing to better the community through her work and continuing to grow as a professional.
