Ingrid Tous Tovar sees tremendous opportunity in children’s animated shows. As a creative executive at the children focused Moonbug Entertainment, Tovar believes that animation is the first entry point for kids into entertainment and sees it as a vital tool to help teach values and life skills. She’s also adamant about creating and normalizing stories that feature diverse characters.
Outside of work, Tovar is a charter member of Latinx in Animation, a program of the Latino Film Institute that brings together mentors and peers from underrepresented groups to lift each other up. She also organized and moderated Netflix’s first Latino Creatives in Animation Panel.
Tovar’s future goals include creating Moonbug Entertainment’s first Latinx show and leading her own children’s media company. She believes that great stories can come from anyone, and she wants to share the types of stories that encourage children to dream big.
