At Amazon, Bryan Vasquez is a finance leader for US Amazon Pay. On TikTok and Instagram, he’s @yourlatinomentor. That’s because he’s passionate about supporting the next generation of the Latinx/Latino community by sharing the unwritten rules of corporate America.
“As a Latinx professional, one of the challenges I have faced in my career is exposure and sponsorship,” he says. “I overcame them by networking both internally and externally with industry leaders.”
Vasquez says he wants to “continue to make pathways and to have more than one Latinx/Latino at the decision table,” which the DEI advocate does by mentoring young Latinx/Latino professionals across different industries and companies. The information and insights he shares on social media address current events, and Vasquez also brings these issues to the workplace.
As a key member of the US Amazon Pay finance team, he provides finance support to business partners and leadership in the US and has worked with clients such as Walmart, eBay, PayPal, and Venmo. Vasquez has also worked with the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) to bring diverse candidates to talent pipelines in corporate America.
Recently, Vasquez joined the Seizing Every Opportunity (SEO) organization as a finance and career coach to mentor minorities before and during their summer internships. The first-generation Latino whose family is from Ecuador aspires to one day lead a company’s finances as its CFO.
