As a policy advocate and community organizer, Angélica César is driven to build Latinx and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) political power, leading communities to self-determination and self-governance. César works with leading progressive and civil rights organizations from grassroots to the national level, most recently proving coaching, public narrative, and policy advocacy training to UnidosUS’s 2022 Líderes Avanzando Fellowship cohort, a program designed to support the next generation of Latinx civil rights leaders.
One of César’s greatest accomplishments was coleading a campaign that successfully organized and trained over two thousand students, teachers, and allies to advocate for educational equity for undocumented students at the Arizona State Legislature.
“Our collective and sustained efforts—for which I provided directive, strategic and on-the-ground support—culminated in the passage of a resolution that will give Arizona voters the power to expand affordable educational opportunities to Arizona’s undocumented students on the November 2022 ballot,” the advocate explains.
César also began her JD at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in the fall of 2022 to enhance her advocacy work, help close the justice gap, and provide culturally competent community care.
