When he was a boy, Heber Moya, director of operations in the Southwest for Technimark, learned valuable lessons from his family that have helped him carve out a successful career.
“My parents are from Mexico, and they immigrated from Chihuahua to El Paso, Texas,” he recounts. Growing up, the family led “a simple, humble life. We didn’t have a whole lot, but I was OK with that because I was ignorant of a lot of things. I was just happy being with family.”
That upbringing instilled a sense of familial pride and the importance of helping people. “My aspirations were to be successful, but more so, to be good at whatever I was doing and help my family unit move ahead,” Moya shares.
“I had worked since I was very young—painting, cutting grass, cleaning air conditioners—and we didn’t have a lot of luxuries. That taught me work ethic and has always inspired me to work. I can’t wake up in the mornings without working or doing something.”

One summer job saw Moya working at a golf course, where he interacted with wealthy club members. Many of them appreciated his strong work ethic. “Watching those people at the country club allowed me to have aspirations that I wanted to be as successful as they were,” he notes.
One day, Moya noticed a copper golf club dulled from use. Taking initiative, he polished the club until it shone like new. That golf club’s owner, a military general at Fort Bliss, was upset and yelled at him for taking the “oldness” out of the club.
“There was a gentleman there who watched this general belittle me. After [the general] left, he came up to me and said he wanted me to come work for him,” Moya recalls. “I asked him why. He said, ‘I could teach you a lot of things, but I can’t teach you work ethic. What you just showed was work ethic. That’s going to make us both successful.’”
And so Moya went to work at the man’s manufacturing facility, where he learned a great deal about the industry. “I have been so privileged that I have had successful people open their ‘toolboxes’ for me and show me the tools they had in life to be successful,” he says. “I was going to school at the University of Texas at El Paso, but I was learning more from this manufacturing plant because they were teaching me real-life stuff. I was like a sponge.”
As he gained more experience, Moya moved up the ranks, taking on leadership roles that would shape his approach to operations and manufacturing. At the age of twenty-five, he became vice president of manufacturing for the company. That role kicked off his rise in the industry.
“I did every job so I could learn everything,” he shares. “There’s been so many advancements [in manufacturing over the years] with automation and technology. That makes things exciting.”
He’s spent almost four decades working in the manufacturing industry. For the last fifteen years, he’s led a team at Technimark. He oversees precision injection-molded medical manufacturing and manages the company’s logistics operations in Juarez, Mexico.
“My team is responsible for all the manufacturing here in El Paso,” he explains. “We have automation on our machines, and assembly machines doing value-added processes—the molding, insertion, assembly, and packaging. The technology we have implemented here is impressive.”
Moya describes himself as a “servant” leader. He works to develop his team to be strong and serve the customers, internal and external, the best way possible.
“I had worked since I was very young—painting, cutting grass, cleaning air conditioners—and we didn’t have a lot of luxuries. That taught me work ethic and has always inspired me to work.”

Similarly, Moya believes in serving his community in El Paso. He channels his success into supporting others. For example, he’s a founding member of the Underserved Communities Foundation, which is committed to reducing poverty by empowering the underserved. He received the 2023 Ambassador Award for his leadership and community involvement.
He’s a board member for the Raiz Federal Credit Union, an El Paso institution which provides financial support and guidance to the community including assistance to organizations that help people through scholarships and financial literacy. In addition, he is also involved with Eagles Treasures In Heaven Foundation, which supports families battling cancer. He also works with the El Paso League of Business on their Leadership Circle providing support and guidance to entrepreneurs in the area.
“It goes back to my roots and what my family taught me about helping others. For me, it’s so important to help our Hispanic brothers and sisters,” he says. “There are more opportunities than when I was growing up, but there is so much more we can do. My community has enriched me, and it’s my responsibility to give back to those who helped me and opened doors for me.”
Moya also teaches his own children about generational wealth and investing for your family, since he says they don’t teach you about those topics in school. He and his two kids started their own LLC—a family investment company.
“I’ve been teaching them about creating passive income that you can grow,” he shares. “Some of the ventures we have gotten into are investing in real estate and Mexican imports of authentic Mexican food. We wanted to bring the taste of the interior of Mexico to the Southwest. We focus on investments into our community and how to help them move forward.”
Family is obviously important to Moya. He spends a lot of time with his kids, taking them on adventures and doing activities like golf.
“And yes, I’m constantly cleaning my clubs,” he quips.
