Driving technology and advancing STEM education is the name of the game for Natalie Arguello. Arguello, a research engineer for Ford Motor Company, works on developing new SAE Level 2 automated driving features. Her biggest accomplishment to date is developing and delivering system requirements and robustness documentation for Ford’s hands-free driving feature, BlueCruise. That project has set her up with the skills she needs to develop future generations of Ford’s driver assist features, as well as a foundation for developing future generations of assistive driving features.
She is heavily involved in STEM mentoring efforts through the Ford Hispanic Network and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and has used her connections at SHPE to recruit top talent for Ford’s summer internships. She has also spearheaded a summer mentorship program for product development interns, among other activities. Arguello plans to continue growing as a leader in developing driver assist technology solutions for all communities and working with nonprofits in her community. Eventually, she may even start her own.
