Jonathan Meagher-Zayas might wear many different hats and be involved in a variety of projects, but one thing is clear: he’s on a mission to make his community a better place. Today, the nonprofit strategist, who identifies as a queer Latino millennial, works as the director of agency advancement at the Villa of Hope, a social services organization.
Meagher-Zayas was awarded the Outstanding Young Professional Fundraiser award in 2019 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has helped raise more than $4 million in philanthropic dollars through grants, major gifts, events, corporate relations, annual giving, digital marketing, and capital campaigns—his two biggest accomplishments, he says.
In terms of his future, his dream role is to obtain leadership positions that embrace his strengths, allow him to be his authentic self, make a positive impact on the community, and advance social justice. With his hands-on work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile, Meagher-Zayas more than proves his spot on this list.
