The way Alex Piasecki sees it, the agriculture industry and the food and beverage industry both need to become more inclusive. Regardless of socioeconomic status, immigration status, or any other aspect of their identity, everyone should have access to fresh, quality produce. Piasecki lives and breathes this mission every day as the cofounder and chief operating officer of Seal the Seasons, which he began in 2014 to provide family farms with an additional revenue stream, encourage the purchase of local produce, and reduce the food industry’s carbon footprint.
Seal the Seasons has experienced exponential growth under Piasecki’s leadership, and has also been recognized by leaders in the industry. But Piasecki is determined to ensure that the company never loses sight of its true focus. More than 90 percent of the money Seal the Seasons spends on their product goes directly back into the communities producing it, and those farmers and individuals will be the heart of any big-picture strategies that Piasecki and Seal the Seasons develop in future.
